Terri Happe’s interest in cake decorating was sparked at the age of 8 by a Girl Scouts class and evolved into decorating wedding cakes for a local gourmet shop during her teenage years.  Since that time, she has continued to decorate cakes for friends and family.
Following the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Literature & Rhetoric from the University of Binghamton, Binghamton, N.Y. , she joined the rest of her family in the advertising business as media buyer, copy writer, developing customer retention programs, and liaising with the agency affiliate in Florence, Italy.  In 2004, she transitioned from print to digital media,  becoming a specialist in search engine optimization.
Five years ago, her passion for cake decorating and internet marketing experience melded when she launched Cake-Decorating-Corner.com.  The site’s rapid growth led to the development of a sister site, CakesWeBake.com, a social community for cake decorators, now one of the top cake sites on the internet.  Both sites combined currently draw over 375,000 unique monthly visitors, have over 25,000 members and maintain a social presence of approximately 30,000 Facebook fans.
In addition to managing her own websites, she’s acted as Chief Marketing Officer managing numerous furniture industry websites for Renegade Furniture Group, increasing sales from $10k to $650k in 12 months by achieving top rankings for highly competitive keywords.
Currently she consults for Name Media, overseeing the on and off-site optimization, search engine marketing, and content creation for the prestigious and authoritative group of websites Afternic.com and BuyDomains.com.  She is instrumental in planning the Afternic.com redesign and the strategic development of a new website, NameFind.com, whose goal is to facilitate the selection of ideal business website names.
Terri will be managing SAI’s web content, online marketing, liaising with instructors and students, and working closely with the management team to orchestrate the expansion of SAI.
