Tanita Wilson

Chef Tanita, a pastry arts instructor is a graduate of JNA Culinary & the French culinary Institute of NYC. She got her start in the kitchen at an early age cooking side by side with her aunt.  She has worked in restaurants professionally since the age of 26.  She was mentored under both Jacques Torres & Jacques Pepin at FCI.

After graduating from the French Culinary Institute, she worked for 8 years at the Philadelphia Ritz Carlton Hotel in their pastry department where she provided new menu items for Susanna Foo’s Restaurant spring menu.  Chef Tanita then moved on to management in the Bakery Department at Whole Foods Markets Franchise.  She then landed the position as the first African American Executive Pastry Chef at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, providing desserts for venues from 200 – 10,000 guests including the Philadelphia Flower Show.  In 2012, Chef Tanita took a prestigious position as a founding chef-instructor at the newly opened Sugar Arts Institue.  In her spare time, she enjoys painting & traveling.
